Ayurveda is the sacred Indian Medical Science that comes from the rishis of ancient India. Tibetan Medicine is an unbroken system of that combines the Ayurvedic with the indigenous healing traditions of Tibet.
Tibetan Medicine and Ayurveda seek to restore the patient’s health and wellbeing through a combination of dietary and behavioral recommendations, herbal medicine and external therapies.
Dr. Malcolm Smith, DTM, is one of the first westerners to complete the traditional education of a Doctor of Tibetan Medicine at the Shang Shung Institute School of Tibetan Medicine, including a clinical internship at Qinghai Tibetan Medical Hospital, Xining, China.
Malcolm is fully trained in Tibetan Buddhist psychology and meditation, and in 2004 was granted the Acharya title Lama Migmar Tseten of Sakya Institute, Cambridge, Ma. He also an LMT, License #7961.
Osa Manell is a Kripalu certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant. She will graduate from Shang Shung Institute as a Doctor of Tibetan Medicine in 2012 following a clinical internship in Tibet at Qinghai Tibetan Medical Hospital, Xining, China.
A passionate seed saver, Osa previously worked as an organic gardener and design consultant, having designed organic gardens in Vermont, California and even as far away as Katmandhu, Nepal. She is an LMT, License #8834.
